New Jersey fatalities keep on being thriller

An unidentified disorder has been lately killing New Jersey birds, just after very similar discoveries had been designed in Washington, D.C., Virginia, Delaware and other mid-Atlantic states as early as mid-Could.

Dr. Nicole Lewis, the wildlife veterinarian for the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife, has gathered about 30 birds, all of them hatchlings and fledglings, that have died of the affliction, but estimates that it has killed upward of 100 birds in the point out.

“We are observing a good deal of eye inflammation with the discharge around it,” Lewis said of the symptoms. “[The birds] type of seem like they are blind. Or we are also viewing neurological signs, these kinds of as impacting their brains, they are stumbling and they are slipping more than. They are not right.”
